Wedding Experts share knowledge & experience to help business growth.
Glenn Mackay joins Wedding Industry Experts: Caitlin Mitchell, Cara Hodge, Alysia Bridger, and Shane Tassel.
Glenn from our team was recently asked to be involved in a wedding industry panel of experts at the inaugural WedTalk event.
The event was created and hosted by the team at Victoria Park with the aim of bringing together the wedding industry for networking and business growth. Needless to say, this event booked out in record time due to incredible demand.
The panel of experts was made up of Caitlin Mitchell from A Little Cake Place, Cara Hodge of Brisbane City Celebrants, Alysia Bridger of Celebrations by Alysia, our very own Glenn Mackay from G&M Event Group and Shane Tassel from Victoria Park (who unfortunately was unable to attend due to illness). The event host for the evening was Michael Taylor from MTPR. Michael did a wonderful job of keeping the panel on track and asking questions.
The 4 main questions of the night for the panel were designed to help wedding businesses improve and grow. They started with “What I wish I knew when starting a wedding business” which brought some very good advice and some funny stories about mistakes that were made in the early days. Other questions/topics included: “How to stand out in a crowded market.” “What are the latest industry trends.” and “How to turn leads into clients.”
With 20 years of experience in the wedding industry and as a small business owner, Glenn thrives on helping other businesses grow. He was very happy to share some of the systems and processes he utilises to constantly improve the business. His knowledge regarding referral sources and utilising statistics to direct resources was one are that was particularly well received based on the feedback we received.
Glenn and the panel also took questions from the crowd on the night which allowed everyone to dig a little deeper on various topics. If there is one thing Glenn loves other than helping couples create amazing weddings, it’s helping small businesses develop and grow. After the panel discussion, the food and drinks courtesy of Victoria Park flowed. Glenn was happy to chat one on one with wedding industry attendees who were keen to know more about business growth opportunities.
