In my (DJ Ben Shipway) experience one of the most crucial elements to any wedding is the design of moments. They should capture the attention of the room and create a flow that guides guests through the night.
When I left my first meeting with Montana & Adam I could already picture their wedding at The Joinery. Classy. High energy. Wow-factor.
The Joinery is such a versatile venue because it provides a blank canvas that you can furnish, decorate and style to your hearts desire. When I first arrived the room was still being set up. By the time guests entered the room it was glammed up beyond recognition. Gold & white styling illuminated by warm white lighting set a romantic and classy atmosphere for the evening.
About those ‘moments’ that I talked about earlier.
Upon arrival guests were treated to champagne poured by an aerial acrobat. Guests couldn’t wipe the smile off their faces, it was fun and unique. The perfect start to a memorable night.
I was set up on the roof of the bar, looking down over the congregation. Montana & Adam made their epic grand entrance by standing on the roof, above their cheering friends and family below. Dinner music was kept upbeat and modern to reinforce the energy in the room. I was told that the young crowd would be ready to dance so I set them up with some classy pop hits including Justin Timberlake, Drake, Bruno Mars and Calvin Harris to set the mood before dancing.
Montana & Adam took to the floor for their Bridal Waltz to “I Swear” by “All 4 One”. That wasn’t going to be the last 90s RnB hit that got played that night. They chose to have our Dancing on a Cloud effect for their first dance, adding to that wow-factor they had been stacking on all night.
The night then shifted in to a pumping dance floor filled with RnB hits, singalong favourites and classic dance tracks. The martini bar opened to give shy guests a nudge on to the dance floor. Montana & Adam ended their night with a stunning sparkler exit out the front of the building to send them off in to married life together.
