Scenic Rim Wedding DJ | #GMDifference #MRANDMRSTHOMSON2021
One of my (DJ Ben Shipway) favourite things about working with so many different couples is hearing about the things they prioritise for their wedding reception. It gives an amazing insight in to who they are, and what boxes need to be ticked for them to have the wedding celebration that they had always imagined.
In my first call with Shernaid & Alex they assured me that they had a crew who would be itching to hit the dance floor, and they weren’t exaggerating. Having a full dance floor was important to them, and after we got talking about their music style I knew we would be in for a treat. Shernaid LOVED RnB, and if you have ever checked out the mixes on my profile you will know that I am also in that same boat. Alex is more of a chatter than a dancer, but if you check out the recap video I think you will see that he made an exception for this one.
The energy in the room was electric all night. The crowd was buzzing with excitement and laughter. The crowd hopped up from their seats and moved to the opposite end of the long reception room to the dance floor positioned right next to the bar. Guests stood all around the dance floor as they shared their first dance to “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran.
The crowd was quick to join in on the dance floor action as soon as they possibly could. The dance floor was busy right through until 11:30PM with a few of my personal votes for “Track of the night” being “Loyal” by Chris Brown, “Crazy In Love” by Beyonce and “Mr Brightside” by The Killers.
Their guests formed an arch to send off the newlyweds to the sound of Curtis Mayfield’s “Move On Up”, which is the classic song that was sampled for Kanye West’s hit song “Touch The Sky”. The perfect blend of classic and cool to end an amazing wedding celebration.
