Brooke & Cody’s Beautiful Ballroom Wedding at Victoria Park .
Brisbane Wedding DJ and Lighting Hire | #GMDifference
Brooke & Cody’s journey with G&M began when they attended one of our showcase nights. After they decided to book in our Magnifique DJ package, we locked in our first meeting and got started on the planning for their wedding.
Brooke and Cody had their wedding reception in the Ballroom at Victoria Park. It is one of my favourite venues in all of Brisbane. I don’t know why, but that room always has such a good party vibe when it’s time to dance.
My first impression of Brooke & Cody was that they were genuinely lovely people. I could tell that they were simply looking to create a fun, authentic celebration for their family and friends to enjoy. Conversation flowed effortlessly in our first meeting. We discussed their music tastes, their family backgrounds and their vision for their wedding reception.
Interestingly, Brooke and Cody had very different music tastes.
Brooke leaned more towards pop and even a bit of country pop (a bit of influence from her upbringing) and Cody liked Metal. It is no surprise that metal music is not usually the first choice when it comes to wedding playlists but I was confident we would find a way to bring it all together in a way that everyone could enjoy.
One of my favourite memories from Brooke & Cody’s wedding was their first dance.
I always love it when people add their own twist for their special songs. Brooke absolutely loves Ed Sheeran, and as we all know, “Perfect” has been the undisputed champion for first dances ever since it dethroned “Thinking Out Loud” in 2017. They decided to use a really beautiful cover of “Perfect” by D at Sea that totally changed the vibe and set a really special and unique tone for their first dance.
Thank you for sharing with us Brooke and Cody!
Brooke & Cody also decided to book a custom monogram that was projected on their dance floor and a spotlight for their stunning wedding cake to make it a real feature of their reception. If you want to see what they looked like, check out the recap video!
